Motorola Droid first impression

Android 2.0 looks great. I have to admit. I’m a big fun of iPhone OS but version 2 of Google mobile OS looks sleek and visually polished. I did not have a chance to play with it yet but pictures leave very positive impression. It LOOKS usable enough. Not sure it would beat iPhone’s in it’s simplicity but it is a real rival.

The firsts device available with Android 2 seems to be Motorola Droid. Sadly it’s design doesn’t produce any excitement. Seems very dated and follows Nokia Communicator idea, which judging form how often i’ve seen it on streets  never been very popular device.

Mouse for $1200

Intelligent Design has came up with a handcrafted Bluetooth laser mouse. “Grade 1 titanium, high quality plastic resin, a neodymium scroll wheel and impressive design for those who demand perfection at their fingerprints”, and are and willing to pay for it. The price tag is $1200. Well, perfection has never been cheap.

I guess the term “design” is referring solely to its look.  Judging by the specs the mouse can do no more than any other mouse on the market for $30.

To me, Apple’s Magic Mouse that supports gestures is far more intelligent and far more sanely priced ($69)

Gmail Tasks Usable Feature – Outliner

Gmail Tasks has one very useful feature. It is an outliner that lets you organize tasks into discrete sections that are related in a tree structure or hierarchy. As much as I love OS X Mail and iCal, the ability to quickly break any task into sub-tasks makes a big difference in usability.Screen shot 2009-10-25 at 10.14.58 PM

Tweetie for Mac

Tweetie for Mac – a Twitter client – has become my new favourite periscope into the Twitter world. I can’t comment on the features as I hardly use any of them but the “Post” button. But what makes it a pleasure to work with is how very polished the app is and its wellthought User Interface.

Windows 7 on Mac G4 of 2006

It is clearly just a slip and surely has no connection to Mr. Balmer but it happens again and again. Sleek Mac Books appeared on Microsoft website, TV ads and other promotional materials.

Now it is MSNBC.com Windows 7 presentation. The ad behind clearly shows MacBook Pro G4 of 2006 with a logo of Windows 7.

But, he also takes the time to really listen to his clients and understand their needs as well as their market’s needs. He is always professional, and very generous with his time, making himself available to go over the details of a project. An added bonus: Elia’s a lot of fun to work with.
