The Challenge

Rossul Design had to create an environment that would be work for lawyers specializing in patent field; to create an environment suitable for day-by-day use by busy professionals who are used to working in an environment of physical paper and folders. As well, we needed to find a way to make it easy for the patent lawyers, and adapt to the industry’s way of organizing case-related documents.

The Plan

To study the ways patent lawyers work and mimic the current paper-based process, while adding all advantages of digital world and the Internet, taking patent applications and processing to a new level.

The Design

After gathering information on industry standards and specifics on how patent lawyers organize and work with patent cases Rossul Design created a GUI that is familiar. We used intuitive icons and created a “tri-fold” interface, successfully imitating the way patent professionals organize their files offline.

The Result

With the new graphical user interface, Rossul Design was able to minimize the learning curve for patent professionals. The highly comfortable environment lets lawyers easily switch to a new and more efficient way of doing business. First to File was thrilled with the value the GUI design brought to their end product.
